About

Fiona Lamptey worked for 9 years at Film 4 as a production manager on films including Attack The Block, The Selfish Giant, and Four Lions.  Prior to this, she worked in Commercial Affairs at Channel 4, overseeing production finance and business affairs for factual and reality shows.

Fiona established Fruit Tree Media in 2013  after becoming increasingly aware of the information gap between emerging and well-seasoned filmmakers.

Her aim is a clear one: to cultivate and champion unrepresented voices and use her industry experience to develop new talent to the standard and with the same rigor undertaken by broadcasters/financiers.

Fiona has produced some of the most challenging and conceptually ambitious short films.

HE TOOK HIS SKIN OFF FOR ME, from director Ben Aston, played at festivals around the world and when premiered online received 700,00 views in the first week.

Remi Weekes’ TICKLE MONSTER is another perfect example of her mission in action. It’s a short where the complexity of masculinity and the stereotype of black manhood are dismantled by the vulnerability of being tickled.  The film premiered at SXSW and launched the career of RHIANNE BARRETTO, was long-listed for a BIFA and nominated for a BROADCAST award.

More recently Fiona has been working with ADEYEMI MICHAEL to launch his career in narrative storytelling. Their film ENTITLED reimagines the immigrant experience in a way that is connective, informative and creates a shared experience with its audience.

Fruit Tree Media has been the support and launch pad for many of the UK’s most exciting up and coming talent including; Prano Bailey-Bond, Shola Amoo, Debbie Tucker Green, Maria Martinez Bayona, Kibwe Tavares, Carmen Mueck, and Vicky Featherstone.

Fiona has produced Channel 4's horror strand: Fright Bites and series produced 2 Random Acts Series with ZAWE ASHTON. She is is the recipient of Underwires best producer award and regularly contributes to industry panels, workshops, and tutors at the NFTS.

Collaborations and creative partnerships include; Nowness, Film London, Film4, BAFTA, Channel 4, BBC Films, Rambert, The Space and The Royal Court Theatre.
